Is a new form of eugenics awaiting those of us lucky to make it to 75 years old?
Bioethicist Ezekiel Emanuel, a proponent of Obamacare, is taking the concept of cost-benefit analysis and the law of diminishing returns to what I believe is a new low. Under the theory that most of us will have lived “a complete life,” he thinks that little, if any, resources should be available to our senior citizens. Hmmm, just like an old car or milk with an expiration date: turn it in after a certain number of years to make room for a new one.
