There is an article on LinkedIn that discusses the effect a medical malpractice lawsuit has on the physician.
Kevin Pho writes on his blog KevinMD.com that physicians who are being sued experience higher suicide rates and are “emotionally scarred” by the litigation process. Dr. Pho talks about the “Golden Moment,” a window of time the physician has to disclose the medical error with the patient and his/her family and try to make amends so that a lawsuit can be prevented.
