Anthem Blue Cross is unveiling a new HMO-like plan in Southern California in January 2015. Named Vivity, the plan will be a direct competitor to Kaiser Permanente, which currently holds over 30% of the market. Vivity members will be able to go to hospitals and doctors practicing at Cedars-Sinai, Good Samaritan Hospital, UCLA Health and other major hospitals, all without having to pay a deductible.
