LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District) has a magnet program for students who may want to pursue careers in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) professions, called e-Choices. Further, there is the Girls Academic Leadership Academy (GALA) that opened in August 2016 which is devoted to providing STEM education to girls in grades 6-9. Its principal is Elizabeth Hicks and is located in the mid-Wilshire area at 1067 West Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90019.

Another school with an excellent reputation is the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies. LACES is located in the Faircrest Heights section of Los Angeles (90035) and instructs children in grades 6-12.
